Tellurian Wines tends 32 hectares of certified organic vineyard on the ancient red Cambrian soils of the Mount Camel Range near Toolleen in Heathcote, Victoria. Chief winemaker Tobias Ansted has shaped the estate since 2006, building a diverse range that spans Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Nero d'Avola, Fiano, Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne and Riesling. The Nero d'Avola and Fiano — both planted after a formative trip to Sicily — have proven particularly well suited to Heathcote's warm, dry climate. The cellar door is open Friday through Sunday with guided tastings and seasonal platters; Saturday long lunches are available in partnership with Ms Batterhams.
