Six Acres is a family operation planted in 1999 by Ralph and Lesley Zuccaro on rich volcanic soils at 250 metres elevation in the Yarra Valley's Silvan district. The vineyard grows Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot using only organic sprays, natural ground cover, and deliberate low-yield dry-growing methods that concentrate flavour. All wines are vegan. The cellar door is open every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 3:30pm, with BYO picnics welcome.
Six Acres is not formally certified but uses only organic sprays, promotes natural grasses, and avoids synthetic chemicals. All wines are also vegan.
The vineyard produces Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, aiming for bright, textural, and complex expressions of their cool-climate volcanic terroir.
The cellar door is open Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 3:30pm. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic. Call Ralph on 0408 991 741 to confirm current hours.
Six Acres is at 20 Ferndale Road, Silvan VIC 3795, in the Yarra Valley wine region — about an hour from Melbourne CBD.
