Prince Albert Vineyard is one of Geelong's most historic and committed organic producers, farming a 2-hectare north-facing block in the Waurn Ponds Valley that was first planted as a vineyard back in 1857. Re-established in 1975 and certified organic to Biological Farmers of Australia (BFA) standards since 1998, it is entirely dedicated to Pinot Noir — grown, hand-harvested, and estate-bottled on-site with minimal sulphur additions. A barrel-fermented Pinot Rosé is also made in small quantities. The vineyard is now owned by Dr David Yates, who has maintained its certified organic status and meticulous, single-varietal focus.
