Pierrepoint Wines is a family-owned estate tucked at the foothills of Mount Pierrepoint near Tarrington, between Hamilton and Warrnambool in Victoria's Western District, producing hand-picked, single-vineyard Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir since 2000. What sets the vineyard apart is its approach to pest management: geese, ducks and chickens roam free between the rows, keeping chemical use to a minimum. At the cellar door on 271 Pierrepoint Road, five wines are typically available for tasting — including a Sparkling Pinot Gris and an elegant Late Harvest Pinot Gris — alongside platters and picnics on the lakeside lawns. The Edwardian homestead B&B offers two north-facing en-suite rooms with vineyard views; live music fills the lawn in March and October. No formal organic certification has been confirmed.
