Midhill Vineyard is a small family estate in the Macedon Ranges, perched at 540 metres elevation on Romsey Road, about an hour north-west of Melbourne. The Richards family planted the original vines between 1993 and 2001, establishing 6.5 acres of red volcanic soil that now grows Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer, Sparkling Macedon, and Rosé. The vineyard follows organic principles — using biological inputs and an evolving soil improvement programme — without holding formal third-party certification. Rather than a traditional cellar door, Midhill wines are sold by appointment and at farmers markets: the Woodend Farmers Market (first Saturday monthly, 9 am–1 pm) and the Lancefield Farmers Market (fourth Saturday monthly, 9 am–1 pm).
