Hochkirch Wines is one of Australia's most committed biodynamic estates — Demeter certified and farming biodynamically for over 20 years on a 700-acre integrated mixed farm in Tarrington, at the cool southern edge of Victoria's Henty region. The vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at 5,000–6,000 vines per hectare on north-facing slopes at 250 m elevation, modelled on Burgundian close-planting principles. Winemaking is deliberately minimal: no additives beyond occasional trace sulphur, and traditional methods throughout. Visits are by appointment only — phone ahead to experience some of Australia's most genuinely biodynamic wines.
