"Heroes" Vineyard is a small organically farmed estate in Murroon, in the Otways of Victoria — between the Geelong and Henty wine regions — at 190 metres elevation and just 15 km from the Southern Ocean. Winemaker James Thomas (formerly of Clyde Park) tends an unirrigated, zero-till 10-acre vineyard producing ultra-low yields of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. Wines are made with indigenous yeast, are never acidified, and are typically bottled unfiltered — a focus on restraint, precision and age-worthiness.
The Heroes Vineyard is farmed organically using zero-till practices. No formal certifier is listed on the website; the winery describes itself as organic. The Anti-Heroes label sources fruit from other growers using low-intervention but not certified-organic practices.
Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc under the Heroes label, plus wines under an Anti-Heroes label from sourced fruit.
