Hedonist Wines is a certified biodynamic producer in McLaren Vale, South Australia, run by veteran winemaker Walter Clappis alongside his daughter Kimberly and her partner James Cooter. With more than 40 years of experience in the region, Walter brings rare depth to a wide-ranging biodynamic range that includes Shiraz, GSM (Grenache-Syrah-Mourvèdre), Fiano, Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Grenache, Rosé and Cabernet Sauvignon. The approach is defined by purity: “all the wines reflect a purity which is consistent with the winemakers and their philosophies.” The 2009 Hedonist Shiraz was named Australia’s best export wine of the year, underlining the quality behind this quietly serious estate.
Hedonist Wines operates certified biodynamic vineyards and practices, which goes beyond standard organic certification to include a holistic farm system approach.
The range includes Shiraz, GSM blend, Fiano, Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Grenache, Rosé, Cabernet Sauvignon and Reserve expressions — one of the most diverse biodynamic line-ups in McLaren Vale.
