Green Olive at Red Hill is a family-owned farm, winery and restaurant spread across 27 acres at Main Ridge on the Mornington Peninsula, about an hour from Melbourne. Started by Greg and Sue O'Donoghue and now run with the second generation, it grows olives, grapes and produce and turns them into wine, olive oil and a farm-to-table menu.
The property works as a relaxed day out, with an all-day restaurant and wine bar, a providore of estate products and hampers, farm and winery tours, and a dog and child-friendly setting that hosts weddings and private events.
Open: daily 9am to 5pm (closed Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and Melbourne Cup Day), with the all-day menu to 4pm. Events: weddings, private events and group bookings, with advance booking required.
