Dalwhinnie Wines sits at 595 metres above sea level in a natural amphitheatre near Moonambel — the highest and most remote vineyard in Victoria's Pyrenees region. First planted in 1976 by architect Ewan Jones, the fully mature 16-hectare estate is now part of the Fogarty Hall portfolio. The vineyard is dry-grown and run on strong organic viticultural principles: non-irrigated, hand cane-pruned, hand-picked, with annual cover crops sown between rows to naturally add nitrogen to the soil. Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are the three varietals, with very low cropping levels around 1.5 hectares per tonne. Two Dalwhinnie wines hold Langton's Classified status and the winery ranked #62 in the Halliday Wine Companion's Top 100 Wineries for 2024. No formal organic certification has been listed, but the farming principles are substantively organic. Cellar door tastings are available.
