Cobaw Ridge is one of the Macedon Ranges' most acclaimed small producers — a certified organic (since 2009) and certified biodynamic (since 2011) estate run by Alan and Nelly Cooper on just five hectares at East Pastoria, via Kyneton. The vineyard produces Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Lagrein — the last widely considered among the best expressions of this rare Italian varietal grown in Australia. Every wine is estate-grown, made, and bottled, and the winery has been ranked in James Halliday's Top 100 Wineries. The cellar door is open Saturday and Sunday, 12 noon to 5 pm.
